Examples of Dynamic Database Web Applications:
A camera manufacturer is looking to cut costs associated with employment applications. In their office they have a simple inexpensive computer that has an Internet connection and a web browser. A potential employee walks in (or visits the web site), she fills in an application, takes a short quiz, views a video, clicks submit. The information is added to the database. Now when the camera manufacturer needs a new employee, they can easily sort through the applications to find the right person.

A lighting manufacturer needs a catalog printed with current prices. They would also like to publish this catalog to the web and be able to take orders right from their web site. The problem is, prices change frequently. When the price changes, the secretary simply updates a central database on the company's web site and a nanosecond later it becomes available in the Shopping Cart and the downloadable catalog with the corrected prices! She can then take that PDF to her printer for printed copies.

An insurance company wants to increase customer service by expediting service requests. Their customers fill in a short form on the company's web site, and instantly the request is sent to the right service technician. The customer can go to the web site and track the progress of their service ticket. The manager can see all open requests and how efficiently the customer is being handled. The technician can have access to all information necessary to perform his job. The entire process is automated, making the web site do most of the work. In the end, the customer is happy and informed.

Dentists could manage all their patient's records, pictures, contact info and appointments right from the web. Now let's imagine this dentist had several offices. Each office, with an inexpensive Internet connection would be able to share their information with each office. Now let's imagine the dentist wants to take a vacation to Europe, now the dentist logs on to see how many patients were helped today, how many cleanings were performed and how much money was collected. All he needs to do is find a coffee shop with an Internet connection and he logs in using his special password and can view a report on all today's activities from each location.

"Data quality issues will arise in any CRM initiative that requires consolidation of data from multiple legacy data sources into a new application (and most CRM projects do)."
