Today, the League of American Bicyclists recognized Service Objects with a Bronze Bicycle Friendly Business (BFB℠) award, joining more than 1,000 visionary businesses from across the country.
With the announcement of 100 new and renewing BFBs today, Service Objects joins a cutting-edge group of more than 1,050 local businesses, government agencies and Fortune 500 companies in 47 states and Washington, D.C., that are transforming the American workplace.
"The business community's investment in bicycling is playing a central role in making the country a safer, happier, and more sustainable place to live and work," said Amelia Neptune, League Bicycle Friendly Business Program Manager. "We applaud this new round of businesses, including Service Objects, for leading the charge in creating a bicycle-friendly America for everyone."
On average, 50% of employees at Service Objects use alternative modes of transportation. Service Objects encourages bicycling as an easy option for transportation and provides amenities such as bike racks and cash incentives for employees that choose to ride their bike to work instead of driving a car. "We're proud to have Service Objects as a business supporter of the coalition. It is a great place to work for those who want to be able to ride their bike to work. We applaud Service Objects for becoming a bicycle friendly business!" said Edward France, Executive Director of Santa Barbara Bicycle Coalition.
Moving forward, Service Objects will have access to a variety of free tools and technical assistance from the League to become even more bicycle-friendly. When our employees bike, great things happen: decreased carbon footprint, reduced health care costs, connected to community, and a fun and healthy work culture.
