An important new FCC rule affecting telemarketing operations went into effect on October 16, 2013. This new rule brings with it the potential for large fines under the Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA). It covers calls and text messages made to cellular phones and other numbers for which the consumer is charged for the call. Now it's even more important for telephone marketers to comply with the rule, as well as understand exactly what type of phone line they are dialing out to.
