Service Objects’ Response to the SolarWinds Hack

Every so often a major hack occurs and we take a deep breath.

On Dec 17th, 2020, it was announced that many federal and corporate networks were victims of attacks resulting from vulnerabilities tied to network management software from SolarWinds. Reuters reports that several U.S. agencies and Microsoft were breached in the cyberattack.

Service Objects is not a SolarWinds customer and does not use any of its software. Service Objects uses Site24X7 for our network monitoring. We validate millions of contact records every day and, by design, we don’t store any of our clients’ data on our service. Requests for information and our responses are never stored to any log, disk or database.

Since SolarWinds confirmed the vulnerability, Service Objects has taken steps to further secure our customers’ information. We are accelerating routine security maintenance within our internal network.
